As of April 27, 2026, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) has launched a massive coordinated sweep to shut down over 150 illegal gambling websites. This action, supported by the Philippine Senate, specifically targets underground platforms that have circumvented the new Internet Gaming Licensing (IGL) framework. Chairman Alejandro Tengco emphasized that these unlicensed sites not only deprive the government of essential revenue but also pose severe risks to youth and vulnerable communities through unregulated apps.
