The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) today announced the commencement of the first-ever pan-European audit focusing on “Algorithmic Fairness.” Starting this week, online operators across the EU must submit their AI-driven “Recommender Systems” for independent testing. This initiative aims to ensure that AI is not used to exploit players exhibiting signs of problem gambling by aggressively pushing high-stakes games. Non-compliant platforms face the threat of having their licenses suspended across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously.
