Following a high-level government meeting today, April 21, 2026, Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance has officially extended the pilot program allowing eligible local citizens to gamble at select domestic casinos until 2028. Originally set to expire, the program’s extension comes after data showed a significant reduction in “capital flight” to neighboring countries like Cambodia. This move is seen as a precursor to granting more licenses to integrated resorts in tourist hotspots like Da Nang and Phu Quoc, provided they meet strict investment and social safeguard criteria.
