UAE Gaming Authority Unveils Landmark “Social Responsibility” Charter Ahead of License Awards

As the global gambling industry eyes the Middle East, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) of the United Arab Emirates has today, April 29, 2026, released its inaugural “Social Responsibility & Player Protection Charter.” This foundational document sets some of the world’s strictest standards for integrated resorts, including mandatory AI-driven behavior monitoring to detect early signs of problem gambling. The move is seen as the final regulatory hurdle before the historic announcement of the first official casino licenses in Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai, expected later this quarter. The GCGRA emphasized that the “UAE Model” will prioritize high-net-worth tourism while maintaining a zero-tolerance policy for unregulated operations.
