EU Parliament Passes Landmark “AI Content Labeling” Act for Gambling Ads

In a major victory for consumer protection, the European Parliament has today passed the “Gambling AI Transparency Act.” Effective immediately across all EU member states, any gambling advertisement that uses AI-generated human influencers or deepfake avatars must display a permanent, clear watermark stating “AI-Generated Content.” This law seeks to prevent operators from using hyper-realistic but non-existent “winning personalities” to lure vulnerable players. Non-compliance could result in fines of up to 10% of an operator’s annual global turnover.
