As of April 14, 2026, MGM Resorts International and its partner Orix have officially commenced the major piling and foundation work for the Osaka Integrated Resort (IR) on Yumeshima Island. This $10 billion project, Japan’s first-ever legal casino destination, is now moving into full-scale construction. The project team confirmed that specialized seismic-resistant technology is being deployed to handle the unique reclaimed land conditions. The resort is on track for a late 2030 opening, aiming to attract 20 million visitors annually.
