SEGG Media has announced its plan to re-enter the US lottery sector by relaunching its Lottery.com brand. The announcement came just ahead of the September 3 Powerball draw, which featured an estimated $1.4 billion jackpot — one of the largest in history.
Strategic Relaunch Around Record Jackpots
As jackpots climb into the billions, even occasional players flock to buy tickets. This surge in participation not only fuels consumer excitement but also creates opportunities for digital lottery operators to strengthen their presence.
SEGG Media is seizing this moment by repositioning Lottery.com for growth in the digital lottery arena. COO Gregory Potts emphasized that record jackpots tend to attract casual players and raise awareness of lottery products overall:
“Massive prizes like this week’s $1.3 billion Powerball bring out casual participants and introduce new consumers to the excitement of lottery games. As more states adopt iLottery programs, Lottery.com will be used to support and expand those initiatives while boosting community benefits tied to ticket sales.”
Expanding US iLottery Footprint
The company is aiming to build traction in states advancing online lottery systems. Early efforts are underway to secure affiliate partnerships in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Michigan, positioning Lottery.com to complement state-run programs rather than compete against them.
According to Potts, SEGG Media’s rewards program will create shared value across stakeholders:
“We’re delivering a win-win solution — supporting state lotteries, adding value for players, and driving growth for retailers. Our focus is on collaboration with local partners and associations, not disruption.”
Nationwide Rewards Program
SEGG Media will also roll out a nationwide loyalty program that integrates promotions, point collection, and exclusive offers into the lottery experience. Initial deployment is expected in late 2025 across a handful of states, with phased expansion to follow. Partnerships with both state authorities and retail networks are anticipated in the coming months.
The relaunch also incorporates responsible gaming measures and educational initiatives to ensure consumer protection while the business scales.
Mexico Expansion Through Aganar
Alongside its US plans, SEGG Media is reviving Aganar in Mexico, a platform licensed by Lotería Nacional since 2007. Aganar offers draw-based and instant-win games, and the company projects $5.2 million in annual revenue with an expected 18% growth rate. The move underscores SEGG Media’s wider ambitions across Latin America.
