SiGMA Strengthens Ties with Malta’s SME Community During Headquarters Visit

Fenech will also feature as a panelist at the SiGMA Europe-Med Summit, joining a discussion on “Vision Malta 2050: Policy, Innovation, and the Next Era of Gaming” on September 2 at 12:25. His participation underscores the Chamber’s ongoing role in shaping Malta’s economic future.

Dialogue on Growth and Collaboration

SiGMA’s senior management, including CEO Emily Micallef and COO Heathcliff Farrugia, hosted the delegation with an office tour that showcased the scale and diversity of SiGMA’s operations.

Following the tour, a roundtable session addressed opportunities and challenges for the local business community as Malta continues to strengthen its reputation as a global gaming hub.

President Abela stressed the importance of SMEs in the gaming sector:

“The industry is vital for SMEs, which provide essential services to gaming companies. Since the sector came to Malta, it has significantly boosted small business turnover. We want to continue attracting more companies here, and SMEs will benefit in return.”

He also emphasized the need for infrastructure investment:

“I believe Malta has the capacity to attract more gaming companies, and the government should continue to support this through facilities and infrastructure.”

Looking Ahead

The visit reinforced SiGMA’s role as both an industry convener and a platform for national economic growth. By opening its doors to key stakeholders, SiGMA showcased its commitment to fostering synergies across gaming, technology, and Malta’s diverse SME network.

For SiGMA, the collaboration with the Chamber reflects the importance of inclusivity and resilience in maintaining Malta’s competitive edge.

This spirit of partnership will carry through to the SiGMA Europe-Mediterranean Summit, running from September 1–3, 2025, where leaders from gaming, technology, and business will gather to explore the future of the industry through networking and panel discussions.
